Not much to say here other than I love the way this background reflected the natural light on to Victoria's face.

Shadows and Faces

From one of my first ever shoots with a Professional Model.  Kayla has a unique look, both because she has a very young face but a really fascinating sense of style.  We wanted to create this look of wanting and waiting so we shot out in the shallows of the Puget Sound.  I am really obsessed with the getting interesting shadows and light. Especially how they make faces more dramatic. We work really hard to eliminate shadows on faces but they can be useful to create some drama.

The following photos were shot with a Leica T with a 50mm F1.4 M manual lens.

Kayla was really brave to get in the water at all.  The water is cold all the time but a lot colder in October.

I know the shadows here hide her eyes but I love how it creates drama for the viewer. You have to look close the way she was looking at me.
