Yashica-MAT D Varient
Yashica-MAT D Varient
My first camera. I purchased this in 1998 when I was an employee in at Noble and Associates in Springfield, MO. My TLR appears to date to very early 1971 and the fantastic Copal MXV shutter, a Yashinon 80mm f/3.5 taking lens, and a bright Yashinon f/2.8 viewing lens. I have shot this camera around the world and it is still in good condition. I recently had this through a CLR. I only really want to sell this to someone who will shoot it. I love this camera so much and it belongs in the hands of someone who will use it more than I have in the last 2 years.
The first Yashica TLR with crank advance was the Yashica-Mat, released in 1957. This model has an 80mm/3.5 lens and is probably an early D variant. The Yashica-Mat's shutter speeds are marked according to the older system (1/25, 1/50 etc.) and range from B to 1/500 second. The focus knob is on the left-hand side of the camera and has a scale marked in both meters and feet, with a minimum focusing distance of 1 meter, and a depth-of-field scale.
