Coyoacán
Coyoacán

Wandering alone, I negotiated with the street vendors on dolls and jewelry boxes for my nieces. It is a delicate thing to venture out in a place that is unknown. Balancing the wonder of a place against the loneliness of not having anyone with you to share.

Soumaya
Soumaya

This pose reminds me of the twists and bends in that beautiful Museum. Given to the people you can see more Rodin's and Dali sculptures in one place than in any museum in the world.

El Norteño
El Norteño

The Gallery we went to in Polanco was full of paintings and drawings. In one corner was these canvases with paint and ink but graffiti artist Tijuana Alonso Delgadillo (more known as El Norteño). I bought one to remember (the second most I have spent on a painting). I now feel bad when I see it, it belongs to Mexico.

Jimena
Jimena

This pose reminds me of my many trips to Mexico City and the statues you can see on the sides of many Haciendas in the Roma neighborhood.

La Condesa
La Condesa

My time in the Condesa neighborhood was short but I remember this wonderful wine shop where the after hours crowd of chefs from local restaurants would go to drink and relax.  She reminds me of that time and the beautiful drawings on the labels of the spanish wine we bought.

Mercado Roma
Mercado Roma

The Market in the heart of Roma with its covered shops and restaurant stalls is found where the streets are covered in tree lined walkways.  The vendors on the streets are offering flowers and shoeshines to passers-by.  My Spanish being what it is I could only smile.

Huitlacoche
Huitlacoche

Down one alley we found a little shop open for coffee. There we took breakfast and drank coffee.  I ate the soup; a Huitlacoche that I have not forgotten. Dark and Beautiful.
